Indiana German Heritage Society

About The Society

Our statewide society is headquartered in Indianapolis, In. The offices and meeting rooms are in the historic Das Deutsche Haus-Athenaeum at 401 East Michigan St., Indianapolis, IN. We are lead by a volunteer board of directors.

Our non-profit organization:

delights in the German culture that still flourishes in the state and supports the music, sports, and celebrations in modern day Indiana
promotes education in German and German-American studies
seeks to help others develop an appreciation of German contributions to Indiana and to promote preservation of these contributions

Our non-profit status means your donations are tax deductible in the amount the law allows. This includes old books, hand-written and pictorial materials, and other artifacts.

We believe that an understanding of the past illuminates the present and gives vision to the future. The impact of German-Americans on Indiana's development is a story that needs to be told.

We invite you to become a member.
